AMBER SORUM, LAPC
LICENSED ASSOCIATE PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR

Amber is a counselor at Inspire Counseling and works with Adolescents and Adults. She graduated from UND with a Master's of Art degree in Community Mental Health Counseling. She completed her internship at Inspire Counseling while in graduate school.  Amber pursued a career in counseling to provide mental health services in rural areas. She grew up in Page, ND and attended Jamestown College. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She lives in Oakes, ND, which she has for the past 18 years.​

Amber has been in the medical field since 1999. She has worked in nursing homes, hospital/ER, and a phone nurse at a clinic in Oakes, ND. She is honored to step into a new role in the medical field as a counselor. She has a passion for mental health awareness and the counseling process. 

Amber utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Intrapersonal Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy.
